The statement of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Defense of this land and water and sky and children and commanders and scientists and all citizens is the responsibility and duty of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its armed forces in which we will not waver an iota.

The full text of the statement of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is as follows:

 

  

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

 The honorable and great nation of Iran,

 

The nocturnal aggression of the Zionist regime against our homeland, Iran, which led to the martyrdom of our dear citizens, commanders, and scientists, proved that this illegitimate regime adheres to no international rule or law and, like a drunken monkey before the eyes of the world, including the Western claimants of human rights and international law, officially and with utter impudence commits assassination and kindles the fire of war.

  

Starting war with Iran is playing with the lion's tail. The cowardly nocturnal operation while the diplomatic process on the nuclear issue of Iran was underway is a sign of this regime's fear of Iran's power of persuasion and defense for the world, that we Iranians, although in the past two hundred years we have never initiated any war, have not hesitated and will not hesitate an iota in the defense of our homeland.

  

The aggression of Israel against the sacred sky of Iran and the unmanly assassination of Iran's commanders proved this regime is inherently terrorist.

  

Now we, all of us in Iran from the nation and government and sovereignty, can with a voice louder than ever scream the terrorist and aggressor nature of the Zionists and consider revenge and defense as our legitimate right, and more united and cohesive than ever, without any political differences, give a firm response to this child-killing and terrorist regime.

With such a predatory regime, one must not speak except in the language of power. The world now better understands Iran's insistence on the right to enrichment and nuclear technology and missile capability, and the enemy has caused our victimhood and legitimacy to be proven, as to who is the aggressor and which regime threatens the security of the region.

  

The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran has started from this moment the necessary defensive, political, and legal measures to make illegitimate Israel regret, and will make sleep forbidden for the Zionists. We will take revenge for each and every one of our martyrs, and we will turn the violation of Iran's national sovereignty into the unforgivable sin of the usurping Israel. We ask the United Nations Security Council to defend its honor and existence in the face of the collapse of the international order, but we will not wait for these institutions, and as the Leader of the Revolution has said, "The powerful hand of the armed force of the Islamic Republic of Iran will not let him go, by God's permission." Revenge is near; nearer than the jugular vein to the terrorist Zionists. This is the voice of a nation and a government that calls upon the world to bear witness that we were not the initiators of war, but the end of this story will be written by Iran...
